Às vezes, confundimos humildade com pobreza ou até mesmo com simplicidade. Ser humilde de coração é uma das bem-aventuranças e é também um chamado ao aprendizado de Jesus.
Em Mateus 5, cap 3, Deus diz “Bem-aventurados os humildes de coração, porque deles é o reino dos céus.” O ser humano já nasce orgulhoso, com uma natureza contra a vontade de Deus e independente dele.
Não nascemos humilde, mas podemos aprender com Deus. Em Mateus 11:19 vemos Jesus nos dizendo isso “e aprendei de mim, que sou manso e humilde de coração”.
Podemos separar a palavra humildade em duas outras palavras. A primeira é “humus” que significa pó, remetendo ao pó da terra que Adão foi criado.
Humildade é você reconhecer que você é pó, reconhecer suas limitações, não pensar que você é mais do que você realmente é.
A partir do momento que reconhecemos o que somos, e aceitamos que somos “húmus” louvamos ao Senhor como em Salmos 103 “Bendize, ó minha alma, ao SENHOR, e tudo o que há em mim, bendiga o seu santo nome.”
A segunda palavra que procede da palavra humildade é a palavra humor. Ser humilde não quer dizer viver uma vida amarga, nem em pobreza ou escassez, ser humilde é sobre ter caráter, sobre aprendizagem em Jesus e reconhecimento da sua origem.
A humildade te torna uma pessoa bem humorada e alegre, porque o espírito de cristo habita dentro de você.
What is humility?
Sometimes we confuse humbleness with poverty or even simplicity. Being humble in heart is one of the most beautiful things we can learn from Jesus.
In Matthew 5, chapter 3, God says “Blessed are the humble in heart, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The human being is born with pride, with a nature against the will of God and independent of him.
We are not born humble, but we can learn to be from God. In Matthew 11:19 we see Jesus telling us this “and learn from me, that I am calm and humble in heart”.
We can separate the word humility into two other words. The first is “humus” which means dust, referring to the dust of the earth that Adam was created.
Humility or humbleness is to recognize that we are dust, recognizing our limitations, not thinking that we are more than we really are.
From the moment we recognize what we are, and accept that we are “humus”, that we are dust, we praise the Lord as in Psalm 103 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”
The second word that comes from the word humility is the word humor. Being humble does not mean living a bitter life, it doesn’t mean living in poverty or scarcity, being humble is about having character, learning from Jesus and recognizing our real origin.
Humbleness makes you a good-natured and cheerful person, because the spirit of Christ lives within you.
