Você sabia que é possível realizar muitas coisas boas com motivos ruins? A palavra motivação significa o motivo da ação que é tomada. Ação é o que fazemos. Motivos revelam o que nós somos.
O novo testamento nos mostra que Deus não está preocupado com o que fazemos, mas sim com as nossas motivações por trás do que é feito.
O apóstolo Paulo diz, em sua carta, encontrada em I coríntios, capítulo 13, que o AMOR é a coisa mais importante, e deve ser nossa motivação. “Ainda que eu falasse a língua dos homens, e falasse a língua dos anjos, sem amor, eu nada seria.”.
Ele ainda diz “E ainda que tivesse o dom de profecia, e conhecesse todos os mistérios e toda a ciência, e ainda que tivesse toda a fé, de maneira tal que transportasse os montes, e não tivesse amor, nada seria.”
“E ainda que distribuísse toda a minha fortuna para sustento dos pobres, e ainda que entregasse o meu corpo para ser queimado, e não tivesse amor, nada disso me aproveitaria.”
O que podemos tirar desses versículos é que podemos ser poliglotas, filantropos, mártires, cientistas, renomados e reconhecidos, mas que se não tivermos o amor dentro de nós, nenhuma dessas coisas importará. O aplauso dos homens, sem a luz de Deus em nossas vidas, de nada nos serve.
Que os nossos corações sejam banhados de amor, e que nossas ações realizadas por bons motivos, pois tudo passará, as línguas passarão, a ciência passará, as obras dos homens passarão, mas o amor jamais acabará.
Good things with bad reasons
Did you know that it is possible to accomplish many good things for bad reasons? Motivation is the reason for certain action that is taken. Action is what we do. Reasons reveal what we are.
The New Testament shows us that God is not concerned about what we do, but with our motivations behind what is done.
The apostle Paul says, in his letter, found in 1 Corinthians chapter 13, that LOVE is the most important thing, and that it must be our motivation. “Even if I speak the language of men, and speak the language of angels, without love, I would be nothing.”
He still says, “And even if I had the gift of prophecy, and knew all the mysteries and all the science, and even though I had all the faith, in such a way that it carried the mountains, and had no love, nothing would be.
“And even if I distributed all my fortune to support the poor, and even if I gave my body up to be burned, and had no love, none of that would benefit me.”
What we can take from these verses is that we can be polyglots, philanthropists, martyrs, scientists, renowned and recognized, but that if we do not have the love within us, none of these things will matter. The applause of men, without the light of God in our lives, is of no use to us.
May our hearts be full of love, and may our actions be performed for good reasons, because everything will pass, all languages will pass, science will pass, menkind will pass, but love will never end.
